Barry Gordon

Barry Gordon is the Chief Executive Officer, Guardian Capital US Asset Management LLC. His mandate includes the responsibility to develop and execute the firm’s strategy in respect of the origination, distribution and marketing, and operations of investment solutions addressing the needs of retail investors.

Barry began his career in the financial services industry in 1997. Directly prior to joining Guardian, he was a Partner at Blindspot Inc. making investments in early stage wealth-tech companies. From 2003 – 2017, Barry was the Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of First Asset Capital Corp. which he successfully steered throughout the retail landscape. Under his leadership, First Asset evolved into a highly credible and competitive, independent Canadian ETF company. Upon acquisition by CI Investments in 2015, it managed over $3 billion of assets, and the firm continues today to formulate the core strategy for CI’s ETF business with more than $8.5 billion AUM.

Barry graduated with a Law degree from the University of Toronto and an undergraduate degree from Queen’s University.
