A Letter to the Guardian Women Community
As we head into our fifth year at Guardian Women, I would like to thank our community for taking part in 2025. Over the past four years, we have built spaces where women can come together, share experiences, and form lasting connections. We wanted to create a space that fills the gap between portfolio review meetings beyond the charts and forecasts. We are incredibly inspired to see more women step into their power and take control of their financial future.
The truth is, women are living longer, inheriting more wealth, and assuming greater responsibility for their family’s finances. The bare facts are that women will inherit 70% of the $124 trillion in wealth transfers over the next two decades, and 71% of us now invest in the stock market1. These are positive steps forward, yet too often, many women still lack the resources to make informed decisions that reflect their circumstances and create future prosperity. It is at the intersection of these somewhat contradictory realities that we at Guardian Women strive to make a difference by providing a supportive environment, knowledge, and tools. And more importantly, by letting you know that you are not alone.
This year, we hosted a series of events featuring A Conversation with Dr. Deborah Rosati – Be Bold, Be Curious, Be Elevated; Disrupting with Purpose: In Conversation with Sherry Shannon-Vanstone for our second Vancouver event; and wrapped up the year with A Fireside Chat with the Cowboys of Commercial Real Estate with Frank Bartello and Joshua Hamer with a bonus Styling segment by Costigan Studio.
In addition to our own events, we gave back to our community by supporting worthy organizations and causes. We sponsored and hosted events for the Women Funding Women Founders Fireside Chat Series, Women Get On Board Toronto Summit, Women’s Health and Innovation Conference where I spoke about financial health, and The Power of the Pitch by I Am Unbreakable. I personally attended and represented Guardian Women and Canada at three International Women’s Forum conferences—in Halifax, Seattle, and Cape Town—participating in important discussions on advancing women’s leadership on a global stage.
I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is when women come together to share experiences and learn from one another. With that in mind, it was thrilling to welcome back Kimberly Hu Amadori, my co-founder of Guardian Women, from maternity leave. Additionally, our Private Wealth women leaders are now a quadruple threat, as we are excited that Tracy Zhao joined Guardian Partners this summer. Along with Sasha Evans in our Guardian Capital Advisors Vancouver office, Guardian Women is stronger than ever. We are also grateful for the strong male allyship and support from our President, Anthony Messina, and our CEO, George Mavroudis, among many others at Guardian and in our lives.
It is in your power to take control of your financial security—and we are here to assist you on that journey. We also want to listen. What are your insecurities or the “unknowns” you avoid? Are you worried your portfolio won’t last? Unsure how to turn savings into income? Concerned your estate plan is out of date? Tell us; we will hold the space for that conversation.
We wish you holidays filled with goodness and joy.
Sincerely,
Micha Choi, CFA, CFP
