\u2018Tis once again almost year-end and time to review
\nthe tumultuous past months that saw more than a few<\/p>\n
Added bricks to the wall of worry and stress
\nthat have maintained the ongoing investor duress.<\/p>\n
In January, there was hope the pandemic damage was past
\nwith the reopening of China to make global growth fast.<\/p>\n
The upward momentum, however, skewed inflation risks higher
\nwhich was not quite the bias central bankers desired.<\/p>\n
But as hopes of a \u201cpivot\u201d on interest rates turned
\nsome regional banks saw their balance sheets burned,<\/p>\n
Bringing bad memories of past crises back to the fore
\nwhich, in turn, sent investors running out through the door.<\/p>\n
The rapid quelling of risks here merely paused the assault
\nbecause next came concerns of a US default<\/p>\n
As a fiscal impasse left Washington reeling
\nbecause of the (totally arbitrary) debt ceiling.<\/p>\n
That calamity, once again, was thankfully averted
\nbut focus then shifted to the curve that was deeply inverted<\/p>\n
And its omen was bolstered as China\u2019s growth faltered
\nfurther suggesting growth\u2019s trajectory soon would be altered.<\/p>\n
Despite all of this, though, and the resulting bad humours,
\nthe economy held up thanks to resilient consumers<\/p>\n
Whose spending ensured that order books didn\u2019t run dry
\nwhile markets rallied on the buoyant prospects for AI.<\/p>\n
Through it all, though, rates hit peaks not seen since the aughts
\nas central banks argued inflation still needed to be fought.<\/p>\n
Lest we forget Charlie Munger, unvarnished and clever,
\nhis musings and comments will live forever.<\/p>\n
And last on the docket, but surely not the least
\ngeopolitical tensions have erupted, this time in the Middle East.<\/p>\n
So, uncertainty and risk remain the name of the game
\nwhich means the outlook may well see much more of the same<\/p>\n
But with a well-thought-out plan and an advisor you trust
\nyou can have faith that your wealth at least won\u2019t go bust.<\/p>\n
And you can instead focus on things filled with cheer,
